Graeme took me home again tonight for another fitting. No, there’s nothing wrong with my kilt, he and Jan have got something else planned, you’ll find out about that tomorrow. Here I am with Graeme’s daughter Emma (left) and her friend Alice in their Girl Guide uniforms:
I promise that I will do my best:
To love my God,
To serve the Queen and my country,
To help other people
and To keep the Guide Law.
There was just time to show me a few more sights of Edinburgh. Here I am by the Royal Yacht Britannia:
All the nice girls love a Sailor!
For over forty years Britannia served the Royal Family, as a floating Royal Residence. As well as travelling over one million miles across the world on official Royal visits, Britannia hosted Royal banquets and receptions and was also used for honeymoons of Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, Prince Charles and Princess Diana and Prince Andrew. Britannia is now permanently moored in Edinburgh's historic port of Leith and has become a tourist attraction.
No tour of Edinburgh would be complete without a visit to S Luca, the best ice cream in Edinburgh. Here’s Julia with my cornet:
We all scream for icecream
Here I am at the beach at Joppa at sunset:
On the beach
Here’s what the same beach looked like in the early 1900’s:

Last Sunday saw the end of the Edinburgh Festival, which closed with the annual Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert. Unfortunately I wasn’t there to witness the fun, but in the best tradition of faked Elliot photos, here’s what it might have looked like if I’d been there:
Ooooh! Aaaaaah! Cantona!
