Hostess Gulla
June 9- 18
Elliot's Excellent Adventure
in Akureyri, Iceland

Elliot arrived on Wednesday, June
9th, and here he's starting his walk
around town. This is where Gulla and her family live
(the sea-blue house between the two beige ones.)
Those houses were built almost 100 years ago.

One of Iceland's most famous poets
lived in this house on the hill.

The biggest church in Akureyri

We got tired and hungry and decided
to get some refreshments
at the old café. Here's Elliot with Kári just before
we went inside.

We decided Elliot needed to see
"The Christmas Garden" near Akureyri.
It's a lovely shop which sells Christmas-decorations from all over
the world,
candy and other items for this most charming season of the year.
The garden surrounding it is also a fun place for kids and it's nice
to sit
down on a bench and relax after the bags have been filled with goods.

It was rather cold outside and
therefore
really nice to warm up in front of the fire.

Elliot took a ride on an Icelandic
reindeer.
"I think I'm falling down - catch me!"

June 17th is Independence Day
or Icelandic National Day
and Elliot was lucky enough to be here to watch the parade.
