~ Yosemite National Park ~

Elliot's first view of Yosemite with El Capitan on the left,
Bridalveil Falls on the right and, in the center,
Half Dome which he will be on the top of very soon!

But first, a little rafting down the Merced River

After our relaxing day on the river, we cruised in our convertible up to Tuolumne Meadows for a "tune up" hike before our big Half Dome hike. The Cabrio convertible was perfect for sight-seeing!

We stopped at gorgeous Lake Tenaya to catch a little sun

This is us on the trail to Elizabeth Lake. That's Unicorn Peak in the background. Funny, I never even got tired on this "tune-up" hike!

Beautiful Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite's high country

Spectacular view from Glacier Point. Yes, glaciers are responsible for carving out the awesome Yosemite Valley. And once again, there looms Half Dome. I'm starting to get nervous about this hike!

Speaking of points, here's a photo taken at Taft Point, another hike that we took. This is really high up and there are dangerous fissures nearby that you could fall into. Thank goodness for the railing and the handhold they had on me. That's Yosemite Falls to the left of me. They are much fuller earlier in the year. They are the 5th tallest in the world.

Thought you might enjoy seeing our campsite. Justin & Jessica slept in the one on the left and I slept with Jeff and Darylynn in the one on the right. Darylynn said we should've been sleeping here...

That's the beautiful Ahwahnee Lodge. Darylynn stayed there a few winters ago and thought that would be her new Yosemite digs. Wrong!

Okay... on to the big Half Dome hike! Gulp!
